Red River GraniteThe igneous rock is not only attractive but has superior qualitites of strength, toughness and weatherability. The extremely low moisture absorbtion renders this stone nearly impervious to the ravages of freeze-thawing conditions. The stone ranges frome angular 1'-10' outcropping to crused aggregate.

Applications are well suited for retaining walls, seawalls, shoreline erosion as well as accent boulders and especially waterfeatures.

Geologist Notes:
The angular red granite boulder of Grenville Age, appears to be 600 million to 1,600 million years old. Consisting of red potassium-rich feldspar, clear tough quartz and scattered spangles of black biotile mica help reflect sunlight as perfectly as silvered mirrors. As the white hot molton phase of the silica-rich fluds slowly cooled, these minerals crystallized and grew into an interlocking network of tightly formed crystals.
